Wagish Bhartiya
Chief Growth Officer, REI Systems
As chief growth officer, Wagish Bhartiya repositioned REI Systems from a company known primarily for custom government technology services into one that also brings proven, productized commercial solutions to agencies through faster acquisition pathways.
Drawing on 10 years of leading REI’s product-development and commercialization business, Bhartiya led the expansion and commercialization of a portfolio of business solutions. Those solutions included GovGrants, a full grants lifecycle solution for grant makers and recipients, VistaOps, which achieved “Awardable” status through the Platform One Solutions Marketplace; and GovOrch AI, which achieved “Awardable” status through Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace.
Together, these capabilities accelerate time to mission value by reducing the need for duplicative custom development and leveraging proven lessons learned across agencies.
“Wagish has spearheaded REI’s evolution from a strong services company into an even stronger services-and-solutions company,” said Shyam Salona, CEO of REI Systems. “He combines product discipline, customer insight and growth execution to turn decades of mission experience into capabilities agencies can adopt faster — from GovGrants and VistaOps to GovOrch AI. Just as importantly, he is building the teams and partnerships required to scale those capabilities and produce measurable mission impact.”
REI is also helping government customers operate more efficiently by applying governed, agentic AI to connect data where it already resides without requiring agencies to undertake lengthy system replacements or wholesale data centralization.
The mission environment is moving too quickly for agencies to replace every legacy system or rebuild their data architecture before realizing value, Bhartiya said. Harnessing what exists allows government stakeholders to spend less time searching for, reconciling and routing information — and more time exercising judgment, overseeing outcomes and acting on the mission.
Why Watch
In 2026, Bhartiya is focused on helping the government achieve tech adoption. REI is large enough to deliver at a mission scale, but agile enough to remain close to customers, tailor solutions and move with urgency. By combining deep mission experience across agencies such as the FDA, NASA, GSA, and the Department of War with productized solutions, responsible AI and flexible acquisition pathways, Bhartiya’s team is helping the government move promising technologies into operational use and measurable mission outcomes, he said.
“Government does not suffer from a shortage of promising technology; it suffers from an adoption gap,” Bhartiya said. “Technology that cannot be adopted is not innovation; it is inventory. Growth leadership means closing that gap by turning proven capabilities into secure, practical solutions that agencies can buy, deploy and trust quickly enough to improve the mission. Government today does not need another pilot; it needs a clear path from promise to production.”
Fun fact: Bhartiya is the father of three boys, which means his weekends often involve rapid transitions among baseball diamonds, soccer fields and basketball courts. He may lead growth strategy during the week, but at home, he is primarily the chauffeur and assistant to the assistant coach.
