Joey Lauffer
Chief Growth Officer, BTI360
Joey Lauffer leads BTI360’s growth strategy and execution, and before that, he spent over 20 years in leadership roles at Google and GDIT, supporting the intelligence community and Defense Department.
Lauffer is passionate about applying AI and emerging technologies to solve complex mission challenges while building high-performing teams and fostering a culture centered on unlocking human potential. But his greatest achievement isn’t a business milestone. It’s being a dad to his two kids.
“Watching them grow into kind, curious and confident young people has been far more rewarding than any career accomplishment,” Lauffer said. “If I can help them become great people, I’ll consider that my life’s greatest success.”
BTI360 is also helping government customers move beyond isolated AI pilots by operationalizing generative AI and modern software into secure, mission-ready capabilities that analysts actually choose to use. By combining trusted AI, modern engineering and human-centered design, BTI360 is reducing manual work, accelerating decision-making, and allowing mission experts to spend more time on analysis instead of repetitive tasks.
“Joey consistently challenges BTI360 to think bigger while never losing sight of who we are,” said MJ Wivell, CEO of BTI360. “He pushes us to expand into new markets and embrace change, all while preserving our small business culture and our unwavering commitment to putting customers and mission first.”
Why Watch
In 2026, Lauffer and his team are focused on expanding BTI360 into new mission areas while accelerating its evolution from a pure services company into one that also delivers mission-ready AI products and solutions. Their goal is to combine deep engineering expertise with scalable technology that helps government customers solve increasingly complex challenges faster, because they believe the future belongs to organizations that can rapidly operationalize innovation without sacrificing mission trust.
“The most meaningful innovation isn’t the technology itself — it’s helping people do what they do best,” Lauffer said. “When we combine exceptional engineers, mission expertise and trusted AI, we don’t replace human judgment; we amplify it so our customers can achieve outcomes that weren’t possible before. And, boy, is that rewarding.”
Fun fact: Lauffer has never had a soda or coffee in his life. Somehow, he made it through childhood, college and two decades of proposals without ever developing a taste for it. “Water and American whiskey keep my motor running,” Lauffer said.
