Sean DuGuay
Chief Growth Officer, Aretum
Since joining Aretum as chief growth officer in 2024, Sean DuGuay has led the company’s transformation into a higher-growth, mission-focused federal technology contractor.
His work includes helping to expand Aretum’s presence across the defense, homeland security and federal civilian markets by strengthening its business growth organization, recruiting experienced growth leaders, positioning the company for strategic acquisitions, and driving pursuit of high-value mission opportunities. He has also helped integrate the expertise of multiple legacy organizations into a single strategic vision, creating a more agile, customer-focused organization capable of delivering end-to-end mission solutions.
“This transformation has strengthened our ability to help agencies modernize, innovate and achieve lasting operational impact,” he said.
With a 10-year career in the Marines and a 30-year career in government contracting leadership, DuGuay said he has always been focused on success in the mission.
“Today, mission-centered AI has taken the lead on how we help our customers,” he said. “Agencies have started to become digitally modernized, moving workloads to the cloud, modernizing legacy systems and expanding access to data. But with modernization comes a flood of information from more sources than ever before.”
DuGuay said analysts are now drowning in data. What once took months or years to uncover must be discovered in days or weeks to keep pace with mission demands. Having the ability to ingest, enrich and analyze data from various sources is crucial and at times lifesaving, he said. The outputs must be transparent, explainable and ready for any type of mission audit.
Why Watch
In 2026, DuGuay’s team is focused on helping federal agencies harness AI, automation and emerging technologies to modernize operations and improve mission performance. They are investing in innovative capabilities that enable customers to work more efficiently, make better decisions and adapt to an increasingly complex mission environment. By engaging early and collaborating closely with customers, DuGuay’s team is helping shape the next generation of mission-driven solutions, he said.
“Bringing together multiple organizations, capabilities and operating models under a single vision requires a clear strategy and shared commitment to outcomes,” DuGuay said. “I’m proud of how our leadership team has strengthened Aretum’s growth strategy and expanded our capabilities to help federal agencies address increasingly complex mission challenges. Our greatest success will always be measured by the impact we create for our customers and the people who make that possible.”
Fun fact: DuGuay is an avid Harley-Davidson enthusiast who has ridden in every state in the U.S. He has also completed long-distance rides throughout the Canadian province of New Brunswick, visiting his family roots in Duguayville and Nova Scotia. And he has made multiple visits to his ancestry of the mi’kmaq, an Indigenous First Nations people native to northeastern North America, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, Quebec and Newfoundland.
