Science Applications International Corp. has formed a strategic advisory board of leaders with experience in both industry and the public sector to focus on facilitating companywide growth and innovation.

The company also announced the board’s first three members: David Norquist, former Defense Department deputy secretary and comptroller; Ellen Lord, former DOD undersecretary for acquisition and sustainment; and Dana Deasy, former DOD chief information officer.

These members also bring prior private sector experience. Norquist served as a partner with Kearney & Co., Lord was the president and CEO of Textron Systems Corp. and Deasy was the CIO of JPMorgan Chase.

The board will advise company leaders on customer priorities, acquisition policy, potential disruptions in the environment and new growth areas. SAIC CEO Nazzic Keene said the company is thrilled to have the support of the members helping SAIC innovate and adapt to the changing needs of clients.

“These leaders bring years of experience in both industry and the federal government, particularly the Department of Defense, where they focused on strategy, research and development, as well as acquisition,” she said. “I am confident that they will challenge our thinking in new ways as we continue to strive to be the technology integrator of choice for our government customers.”

In the future, SAIC might invite additional thought leaders with experience in different sectors, like health care and energy, to join the original three members.

“I am happy to help SAIC unlock its vast potential, especially with regard to how the company relates to its federal customers,” Deasy said.
