WashingtonExec asked the simple question to top area executives:

“If you could give your kids only three pieces of advice, what would they be?”

Today’s insight is from Richard Pineda, CEO of Spear, Inc.

Richard Pineda:

To my three children; Rachel, Richard Jr. , & Reagan,

Here’s 3 pieces of advice that I have given and continue to give you. It’s DNA stems from great leaders that have mentored me, academia, and the school of hard-knocks.

–        As an individual, strive to exceed all expectations and be the best you can be.

–        On a team, contribute your share and then some. If given the opportunity, select only winners. Once those are exhausted, select only teammates that hate to lose.

–        With regard to your family and friends, be loyal and true. Make the time to be there for them, because they’ll always be there for you.
