MacAulay-Brown, Inc. President and CEO Sid Fuchs this week served as a guest lecturer at George Mason University, speaking to over 30 graduate students enrolled in the leadership course of the MBA program at GMU’s School of Business.

Fuchs spoke to the class Sept. 7 as part of the MBA Leadership Series, developed by Executive-in-Residence and Professor of Practice John Hillen, in an effort to expose graduate candidates to the Washington, D.C., region’s best business leaders. His keynote lecture encouraged students to discuss the concepts, strategies and techniques needed to develop and build strong strategic networks throughout their careers.

“One of the main points I try to convey to graduate students is to always view professional networks as tangible assets that become more powerful over time,” Fuchs said. “When they walk away from the program, I want them to remember that building relationships in both business and life is all about trust, service and value. It’s not about what they can get, but what they give back that has real staying power.”

“Sid’s dynamic leadership style is always welcome during this series. He inspires our students and has published an influential book on leadership networking,” Hillen said. “To hear first-hand from an accomplished CEO and author gives our MBA students a competitive edge in business, no matter what they do in the future. Sid conveys a powerful message that easily translates into real-life scenarios, all while infusing energy and enthusiasm beyond the standard classroom curriculum.”
