It’s been about a year since Alan Berson released his book, Leadership Conversations: Challenging High Potential Managers to Become Great Leaders, but the author and chief executive officer has not indicated any sign of slowing his forte in thought leadership.

The University of Pennsylvania Wharton School graduate has 12 years of executive coaching experience under his belt and was this past month elected to the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts’ 28-person Associates Board.

Today he is a Learning Director at Wharton Executive Education and publishes a leadership conversations guest column with WashingtonExec.

Berson, who notoriously encourages his protégés to “think differently” so that they can with confidence “act differently”, spoke to his new position on the Wolf Trap Associate’s Board.

“I am honored for this opportunity to help Wolf Trap achieve its vision to harness the power of the performing arts to enrich and change lives,” Berson said.

The Vienna-based performing arts nonprofit in February also elected Daniel A. D’Aniello, a managing director and founding partner at The Carlyle Group, to serve as Chairman the Wolf Trap Board of Directors.

Berson’s column provides leadership tips ranging from how to craft a successful leadership résumé to mastering relationship building, and making decisions with confidence.

WashingtonExec published one such thought provoking column  in December that detailed how to combat the scarcity of formal promotions by developing the expert and growth potential of high-potentials so as to grow your company’s talent, build senior leadership credibility, and increase your company’s potential for success.

Berson has also sponsored executive happy hours through WashingtonExec, offered his two cents on last year’s government sequestration chatter, and shared with us his three pieces of advice to his daughters.
