Pragmatics‘ Michael Sousa, the company’s Director of Audiovisual and Learning Services, has received the Federal Government Distance Learning Association’s (FGDLA’s) 2014 Pillar Award. Sousa is only the fourth person to receive this annual award, which recognizes outstanding service or significant contribution to the FGDLA by an individual not affiliated with the federal government.

“We are very pleased that Mike Sousa has been recognized for his significant contributions to the FGDLA’s mission of promoting best-of-breed distance learning capabilities to the federal government,” said Joe Brock, Pragmatics COO. “Mike brings his passion for delivering the highest quality solutions to our customers every day, and this award is well deserved.”

Sousa was recognized for his exceptional service in supporting distance learning in the federal government over the past decade. He has more than 20 years of experience in training, education and conferencing technology. FGDLA also praised Sousa’s support of the association and its members as he has served in the role of Advisory Board Chair. According to the association, he has expanded the board’s expertise and brought in noted leaders such as Dell.

“FGDLA members are at the forefront in promoting the continued, successful implementation of distance learning programs, technologies, and capabilities for instruction inside the federal government,” said Sousa. “I am honored to be recognized for my role in serving the Association and helping federal agencies increase the efficiencies of their organizations.”
