Paul Decker, president of defense and intelligence at Parsons Corp., has won WashingtonExec’s 2021 Pinnacle Award for DOD Industry Executive of the Year (Public Company).
WashingtonExec on Dec. 8 virtually unveiled the winners of the Pinnacle Awards, an annual program that embodies the WashingtonExec spirit of highlighting successful executives and businesses saving money and fostering innovation for federal clients across the region.
Among key achievements in 2020/2021, Decker noted consolidating Parsons’ defense and intelligence businesses, breaking down internal stovepipes, unlocking new collaborations and increasing the company’s focus on the totality and connectedness of its customer’s mission-focus areas.
He also highlighted the following milestones: completing the integration of Braxton Sciences & Technologies, accelerating Parsons’ rapid growth in the space industry, and buying BlackHorse Solutions, Inc. and Echo Ridge.
Going forward, Parsons is focused on multidomain operations and information dominance, he said.
“The future of combat operations is in near-peer operations and nontraditional warfare,” Decker said. “Things like cyberattacks, both in the defense industry and now in our nation’s critical infrastructure: water systems, energy grids and transportation networks. We’re also thinking about space operations: How do we keep our satellites safe in orbit?
