Peraton has appointed Todd Borkey as chief technology officer.

In this role, Borkey will develop and execute the company’s technology strategy, research and development portfolio, and strategic campaigns to create new capabilities and solutions for customers. Borkey will also manage the Peraton Strategic Innovation Group, which includes Peraton Labs.

“Todd Borkey as our new Chief Technology Officer brings invaluable expertise that will accelerate our efforts to drive cutting-edge solutions,” said Steve Schorer, chairman, president and CEO of Peraton. “With a remarkable track record of leading strategic initiatives for some of the world’s most innovative disruptors, Borkey’s leadership will enhance our technological capabilities and inspire our team as we continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible for our customers.”

Borkey was executive vice president and CTO at Huntington Ingalls Industries, where he launched the company’s AI campaign. He also held CTO roles at Alion Science and Technology, Thales Defense and DRS, and earlier engineering and management positions at Northrop Grumman and AT&T Bell Labs.

At Bell Labs, now part of Peraton Labs, he led the development of several world-record long-haul undersea optical communications networks.

“Peraton and Peraton Labs have capabilities ideally suited to solve the most complex national security challenges,” Borkey said. “I am eager to dive in, join our teams, and create disruptive solutions which ensure that our customers win.”
