Northrop Grumman Corp. has named new communications leaders for its missions systems and technology services divisions, with Alleace Gibbs moving from technology services to mission systems and Yolanda Murphy stepping up to take Gibbs’ previous position.

Both will have the title of vice president of communications for their respective divisions, and they will each lead the communications teams responsible for a broad range of communications activities. Both will report to Lisa Davis, corporate vice president of communications for Northrop Grumman, who said she is excited to welcome them to their new roles.

“They have been dedicated leaders, serving in various communications roles throughout the company and they bring extensive experience to their new positions,” Davis said.

Murphy will become a new member of Northrop Grumman’s Communications Council, and Gibbs will remain a member of that leadership group, the company said.

Northrop Grumman also named a new president and chief operating officer recently, promoting Kathy Warden following the retirement of previous president and COO Gloria Flach.

Before the move, Murphy served as the director of enterprise communications for Northrop Grumman’s Aerospace Systems sector, and previously served as director of communications for the airborne C4ISR and space ISR systems division within the Mission Systems sector, Northrop Grumman said. Murphy has a master’s degree in communications from Johns Hopkins University.

Gibbs, before she served as communications lead for the company’s technology services sector, was previously the director of employee communications in the company’s former electronic systems sector. She has a master’s degree in of business administration from Morgan State University.
