Dan Shapiro will be leading Engineering Services Network as chief financial officer as the company gears itself to realign its market offerings to expand its presence in the federal space.

The engineering and IT solutions company was founded in 1995 and draws an annual $40 million in revenue.

Shapiro, who served most recently as executive vice president and COO for the Arlington, Va.-based company, will retain his EVP position and sit on ESN’s Board.

ESN CEO Raymond Lopez, Jr., the company’s president and founder, said Shapiro’s 35 years of financial management experience will be critical to the company’s future growth within the federal government sector.

“Our goal is to make ESN more efficient and effective financially and to be able to continue to expand not only organically and through new contract awards but also through mergers and acquisitions in the near future.”

Shapiro joined ESN in 1998 and spent time as a controller for NMP Inc and a tax manager for COMSAT before focusing his work in the Defense Department arena.
