The Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce and Fairfax County Public Schools raised their voices at the annual Char-a-oke sing-off to benefit the Education Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools.

Over 250 northern Virginia business, government and education leaders got in costume and spirit at the Barns of Wolf Trap in Vienna, Va., earning $30,000 for the foundation.

Jim Corcoran, FCCC president and CEO said on the chamber’s website, “It’s difficult to describe the level of excitement and enthusiasm at this year’s Char-a-oke. It was an incredible display of community involvement, camaraderie, competition and just plain fun, all in support of a great cause – education.”

Area businesses sponsored teams to compete in a karaoke contest, while supporters from industry, government and nonprofits cheered and enjoyed catering from Ruth’s Chris Steak House.

The organization provides support for FCPS to develop a 21st century workforce, such as science, technology, engineering and math education assistance and educational opportunities between schools and businesses.
