    Leidos’ Roger Krone Leads NVTC 2016 Tech Award Winners

    The Northern Virginia Technology Council announced Oct. 24 the winners of the 2016 NVTC Tech Awards, which recognize influential leaders and innovative companies and firms in the region’s technology community, and the new Veterans Employment Initiative Veteran Service Award, which acknowledges NVTC member companies who have demonstrated a superlative level of engagement with the VEI and support for the veteran community.

    The finalists and winners are:

    Tech Patent of the Year

    • Winner: Patrocinium Systems — Patrocinium patented a software solution called ArchAngel that allows first responders, security personnel and companies to share information during a crisis. The company founders were inspired by the bombings at the Boston Marathon.
    • AEGIS.net Inc.
    • Fractograf LLC
    • TransVoyant Inc.

    Tech Executive of the Year

    • Winner: Roger A. Krone, Leidos — Krone orchestrated Leidos’ acquisition of Lockheed Martin’s IT business.
    • Winner: Michael B. O’Neil, Jr., GetWellNetwork — O’Neill founded GetWellNetwork after being diagnosed with cancer. He wanted to help hospitals improve performance and outcomes through patient engagement.
    • Kimberley Hayes, The Ambit Group
    • John Sheputis, Infomart Data Centers
    • Doug Wagoner, SAIC

    Tech Company of the Year (Less than $50 million in revenue)

    • Winner: ScienceLogic — ScienceLogic was recognized for the development of a hybrid IT monitoring solutions that looks across the enterprise including internal systems and the cloud.

    • Notarize
    • Virtru
    • Zoomdata

    Tech Company of the Year (More than $50 million in revenue)

    • Winner: Optoro — Optoro developed a supply chain management system that helps retailers track returns and excess inventory.
    • CSRA
    • Datapipe Government Solutions
    • GetWellNetwork
    • LookingGlass Cyber Solutions
    • Tenable Network Security

    VEI Veteran Service Award

    • Winner: The MITRE Corporation
    • Dominion
    • PRISM
