Salient CRGT Inc. announced Aug. 17 it has been formally appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development.

“We value this continued recognition by the CMMI Institute,” Salient CRGT CEO Brad Antle said. “At Salient CRGT, we have always focused on continuous improvement and innovation. By sharing knowledge gained at the project level across the company, we have been able to achieve decreased costs, higher productivity and superior quality. Following the tenets of CMMI, we have improved service to our customers, as well as increased efficiency for ourselves.”

CMMI is a performance improvement framework that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance. The focus at the organizational level drives consistency and efficiencies that benefit the customer by increasing quality and reducing rework and risk.

An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization is performing at the “Defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes is robust and sustainable, which allows continues improvement so the organization can align with customer needs.

This formal CMMI appraisal was the first one completed since Salient Federal and CRGT merged late last year. The integration of the two companies was completed in less than six months, allowing the Quality team to start the appraisal process in March.
