Federal government digital services provider, Octo Consulting Group announced that it is one of eleven contractors that has earned Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Maturity Level 4 under the Development (CMMI-DEV) constellation. Octo also possesses ISO 9001, ISO 20000, and ISO 27000 certifications and has the rare honor of being a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Gold Partner which is an industry-accepted framework for developing software applications using Agile development principles.
Mehul Sanghani, CEO for Octo Consulting Group stated, “There is a myth in the marketplace that Agile practices and process rigor cannot mix. Octo is dispelling this myth by achieving CMMI Level 4 appraisal, while actively practicing Agile principles and practices in delivering quality results to our customers. Achieving this appraisal, in concert with our Agile SAFe certification and ISO certifications, is a testament to our commitment to quality in our customer delivery as well as internal corporate operations. This achievement is also an integral part of our approach to bringing innovative digital services to our customers. Critically, Octo’s Level 3 and Level 4 appraisals focused on Octo projects developed under Agile software development principles rather than waterfall, unlike many other companies that have been appraised under CMMI.”
Achieving the CMMI Level 4 status indicates that Octo Consulting Group makes a conscious effort to manage its projects quantitatively which in turn enhances the quality and productivity of Octo’s work. In addition, by also possessing the ISO 20000 and ISO 27000 certifications Octo demonstrates a culture of improving communication and participation throughout the organization, injecting a passion for continuous improvement, and improving the overall quality of the services Octo delivers to its Federal customers.
