Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG), of Reston, Va., announced April 29 the appointment of Dan Smith as Chief Solution Architect.

Smith will be responsible for managing key technology programs and initiatives related to the development of services, technology-based solutions and marketing strategies involving mobile, cloud and commercial market penetration. He will also serve as the chief architect for KCG’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) offerings.

“Dan brings more than 15 years of extensive experience in designing and integrating enterprise IT solutions for public and private sector customers,” KCG President Maryann Hirsch said. “His proficiency across a broad-range of enterprise technologies and integration approaches will help us to develop new applications and technical solutions for our public sector and commercial customers. This serves as a very strategic hire for the company.”

“I am excited to join KCG’s dynamic team,” Smith said. “I look forward to developing new solutions that will provide the company’s government and commercial customers with enhanced cybersecurity capabilities to better enable governance, compliance and risk management.”

Smith previously served as Vice President of Technology at Govplace.
