Several Nysmith School students and one alumna were part of the annual White House Science Fair on Monday, March 23.
Nysmith School National Champion CyberPatriot team members were invited to attend the event. Seventh grade student Monica Saraf stood next to President Barack Obama as he gave the keynote speech. Nysmith alumna Sreya Atluri, a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, was also invited. Both Saraf and Atluri were selected to participate as part of the Women & Girls STEM initiative.
Members of the CyberPatriot team are William Tan (grade 8), Monica Saraf (grade 7), Aryaan Hussein (grade 7), Bhavjeet Sanghera (grade 7) and Ryan McCrystal (grade 6). The team is coached by Bonnie McCrystal.
