Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. (Salient) today announced that David Vennergrund will speak at the Federal Big Data Working Group Meetup this evening from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in McLean. Vennergrund is Salient’s Director of Predictive Analytics and Data Science and the Director of Salient’s Data Analytics Center for Excellence. The topic of tonight’s Meetup event is “Predictive Analytics with Big Data.”
Vennergrund, who is a recognized industry leader in business intelligence and predictive analytics, helped develop Salient’s Proof-to-Impact Analytics™ offering and has shared his experience working with federal clients at forums on topics such as predictive analytics, data mining and fraud detection. Tonight he will discuss analytic data proofs and how they impact missions by evolving machine learning libraries, as well as large amounts of data and distributed computing platforms that support relational databases and Hadoop-distributed file systems. He will also share examples on the benefits of predictive analytics data proofs that yield immediate value and improved mission performance. Vennergrund will illustrate these insights with lessons learned from predictive analytic efforts in intelligence, finance, improper payment, fraud detection, tax analytics, federal healthcare, personnel and benefits.
“Once seen as too complicated for general use; highly-effective predictive analytics can now be practiced at-scale, by business users, on very large data sets,” said Vennergrund. “The ability to assemble, analyze, and derive insight from enterprise data has never been easier. The growth of predictive analytics in decision-making increases business value as we focus on showing our customers compelling proof of positive mission impacts and increased return of investment.”
