The TJ Partnership Fund, a nonprofit that raises money to meet the needs of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJSST), is recruiting members for its Corporate Advisory Board (CAB).
One of three volunteer governing boards for the TJ Partnership Fund, the Corporate Board aims to foster partnerships and solicit funding from regional STEM corporations and foundations. CAB group members also speak at events, mentor students and recruit corporate members.
The Fund’s two other governing boards include the Parent Board, which is tasked with directing fundraising efforts at current and past parents, and the Alumni Board, which aims to encourage alumni engagement and involvement with TJSST.
“This year, the CAB is being relaunched to have a “lab captain” whose company works with a STEM discipline aligned with one of each of the 14 labs at the school,” according to a statement from CAB. “Members-at-large are also welcome who may not fit into one of the lab categories, but who may have interest in a future leadership position within the TJ Partnership Fund.”
CAB’s first meeting, a happy hour in the Tyson’s Corner area, is set for Thursday, September 11.
