L-3 NSS will be partnering with the Cyber Security Forum Initiative (CSFI) to host cyber training on its cyber range as part of the nonprofit’s certification program.

CSFI, based in Omaha, Neb., promotes cyber defense, awareness and guidance by fostering cyber education, collaboration and training.

The agreement contracts L-3 NSS to provide its virtual training environment for use by CSFI as it teaches courses on introductory cyber defense practices, planning and advanced strategies among other topics.

“Since its founding in 2009, the Cyber Security Forum Initiative has played an important role in educating national security customers about the importance of cyber defense and providing cyber training for military and civilian customers,” Les Rose, the president of L-3 NSS, said. “We are delighted that the CSFI team has selected our secure private-cloud test and evaluation environment, the L-3 NSS Cyber Range, to host training courses at locations around the globe.”

CSFI President Paul de Souza said the organization will leverage the cyber range’s capabilities to replicate networks and attack scenarios as part of its training mission.

“It will enable us to offer our customers a sophisticated, real-world cyber training experience that can be easily customized to reflect their priorities and requirements,” he said.
