TWD & Associates, Inc. (TWD) announced Tuesday that it has signed an agreement to sell a majority share of its subsidiary, James Communication, Inc. (JCI), to CONETSCO LLC.
CONETSCO, a start-up and provider of information assurance, collaboration, enterprise architecture and program management services, was recently founded as a service-disabled veteran-owned small business focused on the federal government marketplace.
“We look forward to the potential new opportunities this transition will bring for all companies involved,” said Larry Besterman, president and chief executive officer of TWD. “Our relationship with JCI has been mutually beneficial and we believe this is the best step forward for both organizations. Additionally, this acquisition will help CONETSCO expand its capabilities as a company, and will enable us to foster an ongoing relationship.”
TWD, based in Arlington, is a communication and collaboration solutions provider for the public sector.
“TWD is focused on delivering managed services and ‘as-a-service’ offerings such as UCaaS (Unified Communications-as-a-Service),” said Besterman. “This transaction will allow us to continue our progress in these areas.”
JCI was originally acquired by TWD in 2006 and has provided telecommunications infrastructure services to federal, state and local government customers. for the past 23 years. JCI holds a General Services Administration (GSA) Information Technology (IT) Schedule 70 contract to provide IT professional services to the federal government. Under the agreement, CONETSCO will acquire JCI’s GSA Schedule and related operations.
