Lockheed Martin, a global security and aerospace company based in Bethesda, Md., has named John Rood as vice president for domestic business development and operations. Rood succeeds John Ward, who intends to retire come August, and stepped officially up today from his former position as vice president for U.S. business development at Raytheon Company.
Prior to joining the industry side, Rood served for 20 years in government positions at the Departments of State and Defense, the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Council.
“John Rood has extensive experience and deep knowledge of industry and government,” said Paul Lemmo, the senior vice president of corporate strategy and BD at Raytheon. “I am confident that he will help us remain focused on delivering for our customers and growing the business.”
