MacAulay-Brown (MacB) will provide training and operations support services to the U.S. Navy under a Joint Force Development Services agreement, the company announced this morning.

The $875 million multiple award IDIQ agreement contracts MacB to provide joint force services to support the Joint Staff Deputy Director J7, Combatant Commanders and Joint and Coalition Warfighting so as to facilitate coalition and U.S. agency integrated operations, according to this morning’s MacB statement.

The Navy named a total of seven companies to the IDIQ contract, with teams competing for task orders through concept development, experimentation, lessons learned, training environment development, doctrine and training.

The 30-year old national security company last week also announced it appointed Lieutenant General Rhett Hernandez, the former commander of Army Cyber Command, to its Board of Advisors.

The appointment positions Hernandez, who retired from the Navy in November after 39 years of service, to provide the MacB leadership team his cybersecurity insight as a strategic advisor and expert.

The move affirms MacB intentions to strengthen its offensive and defensive  cyber security capabilities to meet future and current Army Cyber Command needs as well as needs of the broader Cyber community, the company wrote in its press release.

MacB CEO and President Sid Fuchs said he anticipates Hernandez’s caliber, service and background and expertise in the cybersecurity community will make the board member an invaluable asset.

“After more than 39 years of active duty service, I’m excited about the opportunity to continue to serve my former colleagues in the armed services, as well as the Nation, to address the number one threat to National Security – cyberspace,” Hernandez said. “As I developed a relationship with the professional, senior leadership team at MacB, I came to realize that we shared a similar dedication to Cyber operations and National Security. I look forward to providing my insights and expertise to increase U.S. Cyber-readiness.”

Hernandez is the fourth member of the MacB Board.
