Mobile is here, and it’s changing the way we find and access government information and services. That’s why Acentia and AnyPresence have partnered to support government mobile modernization efforts, Acentia announced last week.

The Falls Church-based management and technology solutions company is joining with AnyPresence — a mobile development platform that seeks to minimize the cost and time of mobile-enabling business services, products and processes — to contribute to the federal government’s Mobile Gov effort.

The effort aims to meet President Barack Obama’s 2012 Digital Government Strategy to optimize existing priority customer-facing services for the mobile space.

About 137 government mobile apps and more than 400 government application program interfaces have been created since the launch of the strategy, according to reports by Data.gov.

“Acentia provides a wide range of leading-edge mobile apps to our diverse Federal customers—customers that require full source code access, deployment flexibility, and rigorous security features,” said Dr. Tom Woteki, Acentia’s Chief Architect & Senior Vice President Strategy and Solutions. “The AnyPresence mBaaS solution enables us to meet these requirements and to efficiently deliver our solutions across a variety of platforms. AnyPresence is a tremendous complement to the Acentia innovation model.”

The recent increase in the launch of employee-facing apps signals government efforts to improve worker productivity, support telework and streamline workflows.

The partnership will give Acentia’s government clients the option to customize their own apps accessing an array of data sources and legacy systems, as well as provides integration to systems like Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SAP and mobile services. AnyPresence customized apps are customizable across platforms including HTML5, Windows 8 Phone, Java, Android and iOS.

“AnyPresence is excited to be the platform that powers Acentia’s new Mobility Center of Excellence to support government mobile requirements,” said Susan Miller, AnyPresence’s Chief Business Development and Strategy Officer. “This partnership extends our world-class mobile and web app development platform and backend-as-a-service capabilities to the public sector through Acentia’s long-standing customer relationships. We are thrilled to have Acentia as a trusted partner, to access their top tier technology talent, and delighted to work with a local Washington D.C. neighbor.”
