Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) announced yesterday that they will be appointing Mark Schultz to act as General Counsel for the Technical Services and Information Technology (TSIT) segment. Effective June 24, Schultz will be given the role of executive vice president and general counsel for the developing other half of SAIC. As announced Aug. 30, 2012, the company’s planned separation will split into two independent, publicly traded companies.

Schultz is backed by a resume of 30 years industry legal experience, specializing in technology, finance and corporate governance. He received his bachelor’s in economics and foreign service from Alma College, Michigan, additionally graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law. He has worked in senior legal executive roles for SRA International Inc. and Raytheon’s Missile Systems business and has served as MWH Global Inc.‘s chief legal and risk officer and corporate secretary. Schultz was also a partner for Sidley Austin and Perkins Coie, global law firms based in Japan and the U.S., overseeing legal strategies in the support of large-scale funding and construction projects for several industries and businesses.

“We are excited to welcome Mark to our executive leadership team,” said Tony Moraco, president of segment TSIT “His extensive business experience in a range of markets will be a tremendous asset to the new SAIC as he assumes leadership and oversight responsibility for the legal affairs and risk management activities of our business.”
