Sid Fuchs, President and CEO of MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), was recently named Executive in Residence at Louisiana State University’s (LSU) College of Engineering. He will provide thought leadership, course and seminar lectures, career development counseling, strategic planning and business operations guidance and advisory services to the administration, students and faculty of the University and College.

Last year, Fuchs was inducted into the LSU College of Engineering, Hall of Distinction. He was selected for his distinguished professional achievement, dedicated service to engineering, public service and outstanding humanitarian activities.

“I have known Sid for many years and have admired his commitment to LSU, the College and the engineering community,” said Richard Koubek, Dean of LSU’s College of Engineering. “As an Executive in Residence for the College of Engineering, he will play a critical role in mentoring our students and providing real world business experience and expertise to help shape our future direction.”

In addition, on April 12-13, Fuchs participated as a featured speaker in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering’s Capstone Senior Design Program. He presented to more than 200 graduating seniors and graduate students in the Mechanical Engineering Department. Fuchs focused on the principles of leadership and discussed the importance of building and nurturing a strategic network as highlighted in his recently published book, Get Off the Bench: Unleashing the Power of Strategic Networking Through Relationships.

“On behalf of the entire MacB family, I’d like to congratulate Sid on being named Executive in Residence by LSU’s College of Engineering,” said Syd Martin, vice chairman of the Board of MacB. “We are very proud of the culture we have built at MacB, which – among other things – focuses on giving back to the community. Sid’s unwavering commitment to mentoring our future business leaders and engineers is a testament to his dedication to leading by example and giving back to the industry that has done so much for him.”
