Dr. Rick Holgate, Assistant Director for Science and Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), spoke last week at a WashingtonExec breakfast roundtable at The Tower Club.
Dr. Holgate gave insight on his top four cost-saving and IT innovation goals for ATF and the broader U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ):
- Email consolidation
- Unified property management
- Mobility (shared mobile device management and security across the department)
- Involved governance (to guarantee more collaboration between departments with future projects)
“We were proud to sponsor the breakfast event with Rick Holgate. In the wake of the tragedies of the previous week in Boston and Waco, we are reminded how important it is to get the best mobile tools in the hands of “first responders” so that they can do their mission better,” said Tom Suder, Founder, President and CEO of Mobilegov.
The Advanced Mobility Academic Research Center (AMARC) sponsored the roundtable.
