On Monday December 17th, The Choral Arts Society of Washingtonâs George and Ashley Wilson will chair the 32nd Annual Holiday Concert & Gala, âIn the Moon of Wintertimeâ at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
In preparation for this event, and on behalf of the Choral Arts Society of Washington, the Wilsonâs held a cocktail reception on Friday, September 21st, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at their home in Alexandria, Va.
âChoral Arts is delighted to welcome George and Ashley as co-chairs of this yearâs gala,â said Debra Kraft, Choral Arts Executive Director. âWe are also thrilled to partner with the Embassy of Canada for the first time in the Galaâs 32 year history.â
Kraft also acknowledged Canadian Minister Congressional, Public and Intergovernmental Relations Deanna Horton, who attended and represented Ambassador Gary Doer, Choral Arts Gala honorary patron. Kraft also took this time to introduce Scott Tucker as the Choral Artsâ new Artistic Director, and he joined fellow singers and Board member Anne Keiser, Julie Huang, Laura Kim, and Lenny Rubin in a performance of two madrigals by Thomas Morley, entitled âApril is in my Mistressâ Faceâ and âSing We and Chant It.â
Below are pictures from the event.
The Annual Holiday Gala is the Choral Arts Societyâs principal fundraising and social event of the year. The 2011 Benefit raised more than $600,000 to help support Choral Artsâ annual season of concerts as well as its educational and community programs.
Gala tickets range from $675 to $1,000 per person and tables of 10 are available. Seating at the 32nd Annual Holiday Concert and Gala is limited. For more information, visit the gala webpage.
