HII’s Mission Technologies division has been selected as one of 12 companies for a 10-year, $25.4 billion Advanced Technology Support Program V multiple-award contract to provide engineering support for electronics and software systems.

Awarded by the Defense Microelectronics Activity, the contract supports Defense Department and civilian federal agencies seeking rapid access to advanced microelectronics, engineering, prototyping and technology modernization services. The program is designed to address system obsolescence, solve operational challenges and accelerate deployment of new capabilities.

“Delivering a trusted, assured supply of microelectronics directly impacts warfighter survivability, mission success and technological superiority at a time when secure chips shape battlefield advantage,” said Grant Hagen, president of Mission Technologies’ Warfare Systems group. “HII looks forward to applying more than two decades of engineering expertise to design and deploy next-generation microelectronics while sustaining systems with robust anti-obsolescence solutions.”

The ATSP5 contract covers hardware and software development, including studies, analysis, design, simulation, fabrication, prototyping, integration, testing, producibility and limited production. Work also includes upgrades to existing systems to extend service life, increase capability and address emerging threats.

HII said its microelectronics and software engineers support national security missions through system- and component-level expertise in reverse engineering, microelectronics assurance and the restoration of previously obsolete systems, using company-developed tools and a model-based engineering approach.
