The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has chosen BlueHalo as one of the vendors on Luno B, a $200 million 5-year indefinite-quantity contract to transform the agency’s approach to geospatial information and knowledge.
Under the contract, BlueHalo will deliver geospatial data that gives analysts data-quantified insight into worldwide economic, environmental and geopolitical activity.
Luno B also expands access to data and services, accelerates modernization objectives, and integrates data and services into enterprise capabilities, the company said.
“BlueHalo possesses extraordinary expertise in acquiring, analyzing, and visualizing multiple data sets — to include open source and commercially available data,” said Brian Morrison, BlueHalo portfolio president and corporate executive vice president. “By expanding and deepening our cooperation with NGA through Luno B, we’re coupling that expertise with capabilities in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and computer vision to provide unparalleled analysis–equipping our warfighters, policymakers, and mission partners with the decision advantage.”
As part of the work, BlueHalo will use source data from electro-optical imagery, synthetic aperture radar, open-source intelligence and commercial data sets to improve the government’s understanding of the human domain.
The company will also support identifying, monitoring, tracking, predicting and analyzing illegal, unreported and unregulated activities. This includes exploiting natural resources, trafficking humans and contraband goods, or interfering with navigation safety across space, maritime and other domains.
