Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (NYSE: SAI) was awarded a prime contract, valued at approximately $48 million, by the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) to provide program management and engineering support services in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s (NAWCAD) Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATC&LS) Division.

The single-award cost-plus-fixed-fee (CPFF) task order has a one-year base period and two one-year options. Work will be performed at contractor facilities as well as NAWCAD, Patuxent River, St. Inigoes, Md., and Jacksonville, Fla.

“This is one of our longest running contracts in the Patuxent River area,” said Jim Thigpen, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. “We look forward to continuing to work with ATC&LS to provide new technologies and services that will ultimately improve electronic systems in air traffic control and landing systems.”

Under this contract, SAIC will provide technical and management support services to the ATC&LS Division to support its research, design, development, training, and logistic support tasking. SAIC will also provide technical support to the ATC&LS programs through technology assessment, system engineering, system performance analyses, system test and evaluation support, system level procurement package development, training, local area network support, and operational site maintenance.
