    Thomas Mahoney

Vice President of Marketing, Optiv + ClearShark

Thomas Mahoney’s biggest recent achievement was helping launch OptivClearShark.com on March 14, 2024, marking one year since Optiv announced its acquisition of ClearShark. The new site unites the value propositions of four separate legal entities under a single brand and mission: to solve the toughest cybersecurity challenges, ensuring nothing stands in the way of a more secure government, he said.

“Tom and his team of federal marketing experts are helping bring to market a new federal powerhouse brand to solve our government’s toughest cybersecurity challenges,” said Dan Wilbricht, president of Optiv + ClearShark.

One of Mahoney’s favorite quotes comes the great Stephen Covey of Zig Ziglar, Zig Ziglar: “You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.”

    Why Watch

Mahoney said the company assembled top industry talent into the Optiv + ClearShark Marketing organization to deliver on a strategy of “Brand, Demand, and Pipeline.”

“Our integrated, multi-channel approach builds brand awareness and preference for our vendor’s solutions, sources demand based on that awareness amongst the target customer demographic, and our in-house SDR team creates connections between vendors and government customers to grow the pipeline,” he said. “By modernizing our marketing program, infrastructure and continuing to build top-tier talent, we are creating more powerful offers for our vendors and customers, because when you deliver world-class marketing, it changes the game.”

Fun fact: Mahoney’s teams all know of his deep fear of snakes and bought hundreds of tiny rubber snakes to hide in his office. He is still finding them to this day.
