Ray DeMeo
Chief Growth Officer, GrammaTech
Ray DeMeo took leadership of company growth and product direction at GrammaTech with a mission to advance the resilience of customers’ defense, critical infrastructure and space assets.
He is doing so by applying GrammaTech’s highly relevant cybersecurity capabilities that are built on decades of close collaboration with government.
“It’s an exciting time to be working in cybersecurity where the pace of innovation continues to ratchet up,” DeMeo said. “The ability to envision new solutions and bring them to operational reality has never moved faster. It also reflects the new level of risk, where standing still, or failing to out-execute has far greater consequences than in the past. Because cybersecurity is the underpinning of defense, infrastructure, and commerce, we’re now at an inflection point where getting it right will change the way we all live and work for generations to come.”
Why Watch
In 2024, DeMeo’s team is at the forefront of the call across DOD, DHS, DOJ and allied nations to migrate from vulnerable C++ code to memory-safe languages like Rust, eliminating 70% of critical cyber vulnerabilities.
Also announced as a national priority in February’s press release from the White House and Office of National Cyber Director, GrammaTech has been preparing in advance with industry-leading talent and technology to automatically migrate millions of lines of code while increasing performance.
This goes hand-in-hand with GrammaTech’s further capabilities to enable secure-by-design DevSec pipelines for edge-cloud environments that are essential to hosting AI compute and cyber-physical systems.
Fun fact: When not in Washington, D.C., DeMeo sees the regular cadence of rocket launches on the Florida Space Coast. Beyond the fire, the graceful upward arc and the sonic boom, he’s always thrilled at this representation of people, process and intense focus that drives such consistent success.
