Serco has appointed Tom Read as the group chief digital and technology officer.

In this role, Read will lead Serco’s efforts for integrating advanced technology to enhance safety and efficiency of its operations, drive strategic growth and deliver innovation to its customers, the company said.
He will oversee digital and cybersecurity strategies, IT infrastructure, and the adoption and scaling of new technology platforms.

Read brings years of experience with digital and technology-focused human centered design to Serco. He was CEO and director of the Government Digital Service in the Cabinet Office, the U.K. government’s center for digital product development, and chief digital officer at the U.K.’s Ministry of Justice.
