Verizon participated in a groundbreaking ceremony today at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, initiating the construction of a new cell tower. Boldyn Networks will build the tower, with Verizon to provide network services.

This tower will improve wireless coverage for military personnel in Texas and New Mexico. The project, valued at $1 million, promises military families, personnel and visitors at Fort Bliss better wireless coverage and improved network services.

“Verizon supports our military partners through a number of innovative products and services, from 5G deployments, including Private 5G, to improved enterprise infrastructure,” said Martin Mallady, associate director for Verizon’s DoD business. “At the core, our work with the U.S. Dept. of Defense focuses on improving operational capabilities and also the quality of life for the soldiers and families living on military installations. Once completed, this new cellular tower on Fort Bliss will do just that.”

Through a collaboration with AAFES and Boldyn Networks, Verizon will establish 10 Macro towers, enhancing robust coverage across the base.

“Here at Boldyn Networks within the Military vertical, it is our mission to improvethe health and welfare of Military personnel across the United States, and globally, through an interconnected future,” said Lou Zeisman, head of military relations at Boldyn Networks. “As a 30-year military career officer, it is my high honor to continue to serve our service members to provide the best quality of life and readiness on military
    installations.

Just like Verizon’s recent project in Hawaii at the Helemano Military Reservation, the company is working with AAFES at Fort Bliss to install new cellular infrastructure. This effort aims to boost morale and welfare and support the garrison’s critical missions.
