Laura Giangiuli
Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer, CALIBRE Systems
Laura Giangiuli’s biggest recent achievement was becoming a certified mental health first aider along with others on the HR team. Given the rising mental health concerns nationally, the role of HR should expand to include mental health support, she said. By becoming certified, she and her team are better equipped to link employees with the appropriate resources, whether within the company or external, like health care professionals.
Why Watch
In 2023, Giangiuli and her team are focused on DEI in the company’s benefit offerings. The goal is to ensure the company’s benefits support employees in every stage of life and meet their needs – regardless of their race, gender, geography, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, marital status or gender identification.
Giangiuli said she recently attended a conference in which a speaker referenced the African proverb, “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
“This really spoke to me when thinking about our mental health and DEI initiatives,” she said. “These are long-term investments and strategies – the only way we achieve them is together. I can’t get there alone.”
Richard Pineda, CALIBRE president and CEO, said the company and all its employee-owners benefit from the hard work and people engagement programs generated by Giangiuli.
“Laura’s sterling leadership, passion and approach surrounding key human resource initiatives are instrumental to CALIBRE’s growth trajectory,” Pineda said. “After all, our success only follows as our employees succeed, grow and thrive.”
