Ben Peavy, Accenture Federal Services chief information officer, has been elected chairman of San Antonio’s Ready to Work Advisory Board, an educational and job placement program that helps San Antonians prepare for in-demand careers.

“I’m thrilled to chair the San Antonio Ready to Work Advisory Board as a representative of one of San Antonio’s leading employers,” Peavy said. “Through this innovative program, San Antonio residents have chosen to invest in their friends, families, and neighbors.

Peavy has more than 28 years of experience in the IT field and also serves as the Accenture office managing director for San Antonio.

“Accenture Federal Services is proud to champion Ready to Work skills training and apprenticeship programs that improve the quality of life for thousands of San Antonians,” Peavy said.

Ready to Work, which is a $200 million program, also provides participants with free tuition for associate’s and bachelor’s degrees, career coaching, soft-skills training, interview preparation, emergency assistance and job training.

“Accenture Federal Services is extremely proud that Ben Peavy has been chosen to lead San Antonio’s Ready to Work Advisory Board. Ben has been involved in AFS’ apprenticeship program for years — a collaborative venture between local government, academia, nonprofit organizations, and other business partners,” said John Goodman, CEO of Accenture Federal Services

“Ben’s leadership role within Ready to Work will directly support thousands of San Antonians in building meaningful careers and better lives for themselves and their families,” he added.
