    Stephen Ambrose, SAIC

    Stephen Ambrose

Chief Climate Scientist, Science Applications International Corp.

Steve Ambrose hit the ground running this summer in his newly created role as chief climate scientist at SAIC, where he not only built the company’s climate program, but also developed a climate enterprise that stretches across all SAIC sectors: defense, civilian, national security and space.

“Climate change has become one of the most challenging topics of the 21st century,” Ambrose said. “The solutions we discover and implement now will have a critical impact on generations to come.”

Mike Mazzella, vice president of operations at SAIC, said Ambrose’s work is having an impact.

“Steve brings to SAIC years of knowledge in climate science and applications that have changed the impact SAIC has with our federal government customers, our investors and our community of practice,” Mazzella said.

    Why Watch

In 2022, Ambrose and his team will focus heavily on building a climate enterprise program he said will position SAIC to be recognized nationally and internationally as the company to go to for climate resilience and adaptation advice, guidance and business.

Under Ambrose’s guidance, the company will focus on science and technology to address the pressing challenges of climate change and how to build stronger communities across the nation.
