MITRE announced it has named two additional senior visiting fellows: Daniela Rus, director of the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Nadia Schadlow, former U.S. deputy national security adviser for strategy.

MITREâs Senior Visiting Fellows program was created in 2018 to explore topics of critical national importance including emerging technologies, national defense, health and cybersecurity.
Rus and Schadlow bring extensive experience and unique perspectives to the team of visiting fellows, said MITRE President and CEO Jason Providakes.
âDanielaâs cutting-edge research in robotics and artificial intelligence are contributing to our critical pandemic response efforts at MITRE,â he said. âNadiaâs robust research and experience in global competitiveness and disruptive technologies and the âgreat power competitionâ are shaping todayâs national security dialogue. Both Daniela and Nadia will help to advance MITREâs efforts of addressing large, complex problems facing our society.â
Visiting fellows contribute to research and innovation programs and many have been advising MITRE on health care, supply chain and other issues in response to COVID-19.
