Agile technology solutions provider Excella has appointed Sandy Gillespie as chief operating officer, a role to which she brings nearly three decades of executive IT expertise and experience.

“Sandy is an exceptional leader, terrific addition to our executive team and perfect complement to Excella’s culture and leadership as we continue to grow,” said Burton White, CEO and co-founder of Excella.

He cited her long history leading organizations to drive peak performance, diversify sales pipelines, and cultivate exceptional careers for employees.

“I’m thrilled to add her talent to our team to help Excella achieve even greater results as we grow,” White said.

Prior to Excella, Gillespie was COO and executive vice president for NCI Information Systems, Inc., where she led the consolidation of two acquisitions to form the Agile and Analytics Sector. This resulted in pipeline growth of $1.7 billion. Before that, she held roles at CGI Federal, Capgemini Government Solutions, GTSI, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin and DynCorp.

As COO, Gillespie will oversee client delivery and develop growth strategies, applying Excella’s transformative technology solutions to impact clients’ mission and exceed their expectations.

“I have always prided myself in being able to bring vision coupled with execution to create practical operational strategies that foster collaboration, innovation, business growth, and success for our clients and employees,” said Gillespie, who made WashingtonExec’s 2019 Top 10 Operating Executives to Watch list.

“Excella has a stellar brand and history of creating strategic relationships and partnerships based on extensive expertise and transformative technologies,” she continued. “I look forward to leveraging the momentum of our current programs and continuing to advance our delivery, and enable Excellian growth and engagement.
