BAE Systems, Inc. has tapped longtime communications executive Caitlin Hayden to serve as the company’s senior vice president of communications.
In her new role, Hayden will be a member of the senior leadership team reporting to President and Chief Operating Officer Tom Arseneault. She will lead the company’s external and internal communications activities to support key business campaigns, community investment and employee engagement.
Hayden “will be a key voice on our senior leadership team as we support our aerospace and defense customers around the world,” Arseneault said.
Most recently, Hayden was vice president of communications for the Aerospace Industries Association. Prior to that role, Hayden was executive vice president and media group director in Edelman’s Washington, D.C., office.
Hayden spent 15 years in the federal government, where she served as a special assistant to President Barack Obama; as senior director for strategic communications and press; and as spokesperson for the National Security Council.
Prior to her work at the White House, she was with the State Department in policy and communications assignments that spanned embassies and offices in Washington, D.C., Afghanistan, Iraq and the United Kingdom.
