Thomas Saueressig has been named SAP executive board member effective Nov. 1 through Oct. 31, 2022.

Saueressig will be responsible for the SAP HANA Enterprise Cloud and his team will be dedicated to making clients aware of the company’s vision of making enterprises innovative.

Saueressig, 34, joined SAP as a student and became SAP’s chief information officer in 2016. He was also included in Fortune’s “40 Under 40” list that year.

Earlier this year, Saueressig moved to the product side of his role as the head of SAP Product Engineering. He is currently responsible for the SAP User Experience and the SAP Knowledge and Education companies, SAP Labs Network and Global Cloud Services.

“Thomas Saueressig has been with SAP for 15 years and has the skills and experience needed to make SAP and our customers best-run enterprises,” said Hasso Plattner, chairman of SAP SE supervisory board. “He is a role model for customer and end-user centricity. I am once again proud that SAP identifies young talent internally, challenges them and then promotes them.”

Saueressig thanked the board for his selection and expressed his honor and awareness for the board’s mission.

Saueressig has a degree in business information technology from the University of Cooperative Education in Manheim, Germany, and a joint executive master’s from ESSEC in France and Manheim Business School in Germany.
