Dovel Technologies is expanding its capabilities and client relationships with the acquisition of Ace Info Solutions, furthering the company’s position into the mid-tier government contracting market.

Dovel provides federal agencies with expertise and technologies in health IT, life sciences and grants, and AceInfo specializes in infrastructure and data center support, agile software development, systems modernization, DevSecOps, cloud engineering and data analytics.

Ace Info also holds governtmentwide contracts and has technology Centers of Excellence for bringing emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning to customers.

Combining the companies advances Dovel’s portfolio of solutions while providing employees with the opportunity to grow their experiences and talents. Dovel will now offer the expertise of more than 2,200 technologists, scientists and support staff to its federal government sector clients.

Plus, the addition enables Dovel to continue its pursuit of its long-term growth strategy of market expansion and competitive positioning in the mid-tier market, according to its CEO Paul Leslie.

“AceInfo adds complementary capabilities, a highly-skilled team of employees, and a diverse customer base that will help us advance our work in supporting the integration of emerging technologies with complex systems to manage data and information for more rapid decision making,” Leslie said.

The newly formed mid-tier company will serve government agency customers such as the departments of Health and Human Services, Defense, Agriculture, Homeland Security, Justice and Commerce. And the AceInfo transaction strengthens Dovel’s presence in the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan area with offices now in McLean and Reston, Virginia, and Rockville, Maryland.

“This transaction is another great example of private equity strategically building the middle market,” said Marc Marlin, managing director at KippsDeSanto & Co, which acted as the financial adviser to AceInfo for this acquisition.

“The AceInfo acquisition brings to Dovel additional scale, a number of highly attractive contract vehicles and further capability depth in a number of next-generation technologies,” Marlin added.

And along with business opportunities, both the company’s cultures, technical capabilities and shared commitment to employees and customers were a match, according to AceInfo Chairman and CEO Jay Challa.

“Our cultures are both entrepreneurially focused and dedicated to delivering quality solutions,” he said. “We are proud to bring our collective capabilities to make a positive impact across critical federal government projects.”
