    Jacobs Wins State Department Commissioning Services Deal

    Jacobs has been chosen to provide commissioning services to the State Department’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations, a deal worth $25 million.

    This award is Jacobs’ second consecutive commissioning services contract with OBO. The bureau is charged with U.S. diplomatic missions, including embassies and consulates. 

    “Efficiently operating U.S. Department of State embassies, consulates and missions around the world shows appreciation for host countries and their resources,” said Pankaj Duggal, Jacobs buildings, infrastructure and advanced facilities senior vice president and general manager for U.S. federal solutions  “We welcome this opportunity to ‘green’ these important properties and demonstrate our own commitment to sustainable initiatives in the architectural and engineering industry.”

    Jacob’s commissioning services will use their engineering and construction expertise to help grow OBO’s familiarity with building system requirements and improve system performance.

    The 5-year contract has a base year and four option years of $5 million each.
