General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded a 5-year Program Support Center contract by the Health and Human Services Department valued at $49 million to provide artificial intelligence technologies.

Under the multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, GDIT is pre-qualified to compete on task orders that ultimately help HHS leverage advanced technologies for modernization and workforce efficiency efforts. This includes piloting, testing and implementing new technologies like AI, intelligent automation, blockchain, microservices, machine learning, natural language processing and robotic process automation.

“GDIT will use utilize our expertise in AI, blockchain and other next-generation technologies to help transform HHS’ business processes and enhance their mission delivery,” said Kamal Narang, vice president and head of GDIT’s health sector.

The PSC contract vehicle was created to allow HHS to leverage new technology solutions for reducing backlog, cutting costs, predicting fraudulent transactions and identifying irregularities efficiently. It also allows contracting officers to quickly obtain AI solutions for HHS, or on behalf of other agencies.
