Retired CIA officer Bradford Karony has been named LMI‘s director of national security operations, the company announced.
In his new role, Karony will oversee LMI’s expanding line of service in a number of intelligence-related fields, including human, imagery and signals intelligence support; intelligence training; and testing and evaluating national security-specific machinery.
“Brad is an invaluable addition to the LMI team,” said Vice President for National Security John Selman. “He is uniquely qualified to ensure we are developing capabilities that anticipate and address client needs in intelligence collection and processing, tradecraft training, and analysis. We are excited to welcome Brad to LMI.”
Karony has more than 20 years of experience in the intelligence community, including as a manager for the CIA Directorate of Operations, both within the continental U.S. and in Europe, Southeast Asia, East Africa and the Middle East, among others.
He most recently served at the CIA’s Directorate of Operations training center as a contractor, instructing and mentoring new hires.
Before joining the CIA, Karony served as battalion adjutant for a U.S. Marine Corps East Coast infantry battalion and was part of the staff for a battalion landing team attached to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) during the Kosovo campaign.
“LMI combines firsthand Intelligence Community experience and subject matter expertise with proprietary tools and techniques. I look forward to harnessing those resources to deliver practical, impactful solutions for our clients,” Karony said. “It is an honor to join LMI and to help clients from across the intelligence, national security, and homeland security communities achieve mission success.”
