CSRA Inc. has been awarded a $238 million task order to provide IT service and tech support for Veterans Affairs Department applications, hardware, software, data and services.
CSRA plans to hire up to 500 additional staff, located at CSRA’s Integrated Technology Center in Bossier City, Louisiana and its Barbourville, Kentucky facility, for the task order. The task order will support the VA Enterprise Service Desk, providing daily tech support to all VA employees and VA-designated third parties who use or have access to VA-approved systems.
The award is a significant expansion of CSRA’s managed services offering and represents VA’s first migration of critical services to a managed service environment, according to CSRA. The task order is part of VA’s efforts to outsource twelve existing national service desks to managed service provider facilities to better focus on its core mission of providing healthcare and benefits to veterans and their families, CSRA said.
“We are excited to support our veterans and partner with the VA on this transformational program and support their journey to managed services,” said Vice President Kamal Narang, head of CSRA’s Federal Health Group.
CSRA plans to use artificial intelligence-based knowledge management platforms to help VA service delivery capabilities, said Rebecca Miller, vice president of business development for CSRA’s Health and Civil Group.
CSRA has more than 25 current task orders supporting the Veterans Benefits Administration, the Veterans Health Administration and the VA Office of Information and Technology, ranging from providing VA cloud services to digitizing millions of veterans’ records, the company said.
