Science Applications International Corp. has announced the addition of Mark Johnson, co-founder and managing partner of Astra Capital Management, to its board of directors.
The appointment is effective Dec. 12, 2017, SAIC said. Johnson will serve on the board’s audit committee, and his addition brings SAIC’s board membership to nine.
SAIC chairman Edward Sanderson, Jr. said he looked forward to getting Johnson’s input on the company’s long-term strategy, called Ingenuity 2025, which focuses on growth in core markets like engineering, information technology, platform integration, and logistics and sustainment.
“He brings decades of investment experience and a broad financial perspective,” Sanderson said in a statement. “As we continue to focus on executing our strategy, Ingenuity 2025, Mark’s leadership and insight will be critical as this strategy evolves. We look forward to working with him and benefiting from his judgment and counsel.”
Johnson’s firm, Astra Capital Management, is a private equity firm specializing in communication and technology services based in Washington, D.C. Before co-founding Astra Capital Management in 2014, Johnson was a managing director and global partner at the Carlyle Group, and previously worked for the Blackstone Group, J.H.
