Engility Holdings Inc. has won $63 million in task orders from he U.S. Air Force Medical Service. Engility will deliver health care informatics, medical coding, training and compliance expertise at 14 Air Force bases.

The task orders, which have a 1-year base period and four option years, will support the Air Force’s Medical Coding Program. Engility staff will support all AFMS medical treatment facilities nationwide.

“Helping provide for the health and welfare of our men and women in uniform is one of our most satisfying missions,” Engility CEO Lynn Dugle said. “We look forward to bringing to bear the breadth and depth of our coding and data analysis expertise to benefit the warfighter.”

Medical coding provides enhanced value to patients and helps manage reimbursement, provider currency, decision support, population health and disability services, Engility said.

Awarded in September, the new task orders expand on Engility’s other work with military health services. That work includes efforts to evaluate traumatic brain injury and psychological health efforts for the Military Health System; Defense Health Agency medical trials; and delivering benefits through the Veterans Affairs Department.
